The Inanda Seminary birthday celebration tradition
Inanda Seminary was born on the 1st of March 1869. Every year the school celebrates the birthday on the closest Saturday to 1st March. We have a special service in the chapel, guest speakers and birthday cake & tea on our beautiful lawns! Up until recently, all students, staff & guests would also walk up the road to the cemetery for a special thanksgiving service at the grave of Mary Kelly Edwards and other founders. This tradition now continues on the actual birthday with a smaller group of students and staff.
Below are some pics from the schools 148th Brithday celebrated on 4 March 2017.
Past Birthday Articles:
On Saturday the 1st March 2014 we celebrated Inanda Seminary's 145th Birthday!
Mrs Swinbourn (who is retiring at the end of the term) was the guest speaker. As always cake was enjoyed by all on the lawns after the services at the grave site and in the chapel.
