Matrics: Start of 2019

The challenging and exciting year has begun for our matrics! Various events and programmes have marked this time of transition and moving into new roles.

With Leadership badges and carrying the light bestowed by the teachers, matrics are ready for 2019.
Let your light shine!

A workshop was run by NALEDI to allow them to prepare for the year ahead. This was followed by an evening ceremony in which they received advice from elders in the community, and then symbolically placed in a fire their fears and inadequacies.

Two weeks into term, they received their leadership badges and engaged in a symbolic foot-washing ceremony to emphasise the servant-leadership Inanda aspires to. The staff then lit candles, whose light they then passed on to all the Matrics of 2019, a suitable way of indicating that we are letting our light shine in this 150th year of Inanda Seminary.
