The key event in Term 1 was undoubtedly the 150th Birthday. However, there were many other exciting events which took place. The year started off with the annual Summit for the staff. Notably, there were also the Matric Dance and the Swimming Gala.
Summit
The Summit was held in the week before school started. It was an opportunity to work on the theme for the year, develop some IT/Academic skills, reflect on our roles as mentors, and develop our strategies regarding restorative discipline.
The Matric Dance
The Matric Dance was held on Friday 15th February in the school dining hall which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion.

Extraordinary Schools Coalition
Inanda Seminary is part of the South African Extraordinary Schools Coalition which is a national grouping of schools working together to improve the quality of education in South Africa. On the Monday after the 150th birthday, we hosted members from schools in KZN and elsewhere in SA. It was a great opportunity to showcase who we are and what we do as participants visited various classes and Khanyisa. It was also a time of sharing and re-committing to the vision of an education system which addresses the problems facing our world by truly empowering students to be change agents. You can find out more about SAESC here.
