At Home Awards 2019

The At Home Awards day is a highlight on the InandaSeminary calendar.  This year the keynote address was delivered by Khanya Mahlare, an ex-member of the class of 1978, and currently the Executive Director for Institutional Advancement at the University of South Africa (Unisa). She shared her thoughts on students understanding the critical importance of a value system and personal branding as a means to navigating the world of work and life. Her practical wisdom was inspirational and her message moved members.   

The following awards were presented:

The All-Round Achiever Awards are awarded to one student in each grade from Grades 8 to 12.  These students embody an important goal of the school - they demonstrate the ability to excel at their academics as well as their extra-mural activities through sports, clubs and service.  Our recipients for the 2019 year are as follow:

  • Geography - Luyanda Cebekhulu and Thando Thabethe

  • isiZulu as Frist Additional Language - Billy Mbuyazi
  • isiZulu as Home Language - Gcinile Mkizwana
  • Life Orientation - Billy Mbuyazi
  • Life Sciences - Billy Mbuyazi
  • Mathematics - Billy Mbuyazi
  • Mathematics Literacy - Nontobeko Mbhele
  • Physical Science - Billy Mbuyazi

The Jane Sibisi Award is presented by the Boarding staff to a senior student for exemplary behaviour, courtesy, helpfulness and service above self.  This year’s awardee is Mbali Ndlovu.

The Red Letter Bible Award is awarded to a senior student for character, influence and service.  This year’s awardee is Lindelwa Sithole.

The prestigious Dux Award which celebrates the academic achievement of a grade 12 student went to Billy Mbuyazi for her outstanding academic performance. The runner-up to the DUX went to Njabulo Dlomo for her equally impressive academic record.
